Who's the biggest airline?

Ryanair is claiming to be twice the size of British Airways, reports Kevin Done in the Financial Times. But it all depends on what you measure, he explains: international passengers, all passengers, turnover, market capitalisation, or revenue passenger kilometres (RPKs, which measures the number of passengers times the distance they fly). On most of these measures, BA is bigger than Ryanair, and Delta is far bigger than either of them - on RPKs, BA is eighth in the world, and Ryanair 18th. Ryanir does beat BA on market capitalisation, though. So it all depends on what you count. Read it here.
